Imagining the Future

A Reflection on Stewardship

Bell Street Chapel is a Unitarian Universalist congregation that is rooted in its mission to: welcome all people into our loving community; to nurture each other; to deepen our spirituality together; and to work for peace and social justice.

Together we create this congregation and its values and goals. This is a group effort and one that requires active participation from all of us!

Each year, we set aside a time to reflect upon the meaning and place that Bell Street holds in our hearts. This time is referred to as Stewardship season. We reflect on the meaning and value that Bell Street and Unitarian Universalism holds in our hearts, our souls, and our lives. And upon reflecting we pledge ourselves again to the mission of this congregation and our place in that mission.

This month we will kick off our Stewardship and Pledge Drive. We will ask you to reflect on these things and consider making a pledge to Bell Street Chapel. If you are already a pledging family, we ask you to consider increasing your pledge. Stewardship involves management and planning with regard to our financial resources. It also means that each of us is called to be part of that process.

I hope you’ll engage with this process and consider it deeply. Let’s see what we can do when we pool our resources and recommit ourselves to this faith, this place, and this people.
