In addition to Sunday Worship Services, Bell Street Chapel offers a variety of opportunities for individuals to explore spiritual issues or engage in spritiual practices.

Vesper Services

In addition to the worship services offered each Sunday by our Minister and the Worship Committee there will be a vespers service offered once per quarter. These services will be led by Rev. CJ and will take place in the sanctuary at 7:30 p.m. as announced in the newsletter. Vespers is traditionally a service of evening prayer. The word comes from the Latin vesper, meaning “evening.” Of course our Vespers will have a Unitarian Universalist twist. Our Vespers will honor our many ways of worship. Services may include spiritual practices such as chanting, poetry, singing, readings and meditation. These services allow all of us to go deeper spiritually. Attendees are asked to enter the sanctuary in silence. If you have questions please contact Rev. CJ at [email protected]

Meditation Group

The Radiant Bell Sangha meditation group meets at BSC on the first Saturday of every month: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and the second and third Saturday of every month: 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Joanne Friday, who is an ordained Dharma teacher in Thich Nhat Hanh’s Tiep Hien Order (Order of Interbeing), agreed to be the guiding teacher of our group and is scheduled to meet with us on the first Saturday of every month. On the first Saturday, we follow a traditional sitting/walking/sitting meditation format, followed by a Dharma talk and Dharma sharing. On the second and third Saturday of every month, we follow the same sitting/walking/sitting meditation format, starting with a reading of Thich Nhat Hanh and concluding with a prayer circle and Dharma sharing. Radiant Bell Sangha is dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming and loving environment for anyone interested in joining a meditation community.
All are welcome.
