Please join us on Sundays at 10 am for service in our sanctuary, located on the 2nd floor of our beautiful historic building in Federal Hill. If you can, come a little before 10am so our greeter and other members can help you settle in to our peaceful sanctuary. Latecomers are very welcome, too!

WINTER WEATHER NOTE

Please be advised:

If there is a Providence Parking Ban, then service will be online-only. (The city website will have a pop-up message at the bottom if there is a parking ban: https://www.providenceri.gov/)

We may move to online-only service even without an announced ban from the city, so see our blog, our newsletter, and our Facebook for details if we are online-only.

Thank you, and please stay safe in the inclement weather.

Our address is 5 Bell Street, Providence. The entrance for the building is at the side door, off the walkway, towards the front of the building. Service is also streamed on Zoom.

Subscribe to our e-newsletter here to learn about upcoming Bell Street Chapel services, get our Zoom information, and find out about community events.

The Bell Street Chapel parking lot is behind the building. We have an elevator lift for accessibility. We also offer free daycare.

A Special Note for New Visitors

If you are attending for the first time and can arrive 5-15 minutes before 10am, our greeter will get you an order of service, help you with a temporary name tag (optional), and orient you to the space. Other members can help you find the hymnals and greet you when you get to the sanctuary section of the building where service takes place. If you cannot come early, do not worry! We welcome you any time.

We look forward to meeting you!

Love is the spirit of this church and service is its law. This is our great covenant: to dwell together in peace, to seek the truth in love, and to help one another.

Our Mission

Welcome all people into our loving community; nurture each other; deepen our spirituality together; and work for peace and social justice by dismantling the culture of white supremacy.

Bell Street Chapel is a community where free inquiry and a life-long search for truth are respected and encouraged. We are a welcoming, joyful, multi-generational, and social justice seeking Unitarian Universalist congregation. We support ethical and intentional living, encourage wonder and awe, and believe in our interdependence and the power of love. Our congregants hold a diversity of beliefs: atheist, Christian, Jewish, agnostic, Pagans, spiritual, and more. All our welcome to “dwell together in peace” each Sunday. If you are looking for an ethical and community-minded space, we hope you will find one with us!

Please join us for worship, Sundays at 10:00 am at 5 Bell Street in Providence or online. Childcare is available every week. Children are always welcome in the sanctuary during worship.
